This sweet little book features illustrations of nine iconic slider joints in Detroit. These porcelain steel siding diners were popularized across the Midwest in the 1920’s as White Castles and White Tower restaurants, with dozens of mom-and-pop variations scattered around Detroit. Less than a dozen of these endearing and delicious hamburger joints remain, and I hope they never go away.
